SeedPillow™

Plant Native. Grow Habitat. Support Pollinators.

SeedPillow™ is an eco-friendly, water-soluble planting packet filled with organic growing media, beneficial mycorrhizae, and native wildflower seeds. Simply place it on soil, add moisture, and let nature do the rest.

What Is SeedPillow™?

SeedPillow™ is designed to make planting native wildflowers simple for gardeners of all experience levels. Each packet contains seeds selected to support pollinators, birds, and local ecosystems. The water-soluble pouch dissolves naturally, helping reduce waste and making planting easy.

How It Works

  1. Place the SeedPillow™ directly on top of your garden bed
  2. Mist with water or allow rain or snow to moisten the packet
  3. The packet dissolves and releases seeds and beneficial fungi
  4. Native plants begin establishing naturally

No digging. No burying. No covering.

How To Plant

For best results:

  • Place on top of soil
  • Best placed on the garden bed in fall or winter for natural cold stratification
  • Keep the area moist for 7–14 days after placement
  • Choose a sunny or partially sunny location (based on your mix)

For spring and summer germination, see the instructions included in each kit.

Understanding Native Plant Growth

Native plants follow a natural establishment pattern often described as "Sleep, Creep, and Leap."

  • Year 1 – Sleep: Plants focus on developing strong root systems underground.
  • Year 2 – Creep: Plants begin spreading and producing moderate above-ground growth.
  • Year 3 – Leap: Plants reach maturity and typically produce full blooms and strong habitat value.

Native wildflowers are perennial, meaning once established, they return and grow again each year. With proper site selection and care during establishment, your planting can provide long-term pollinator habitat and seasonal beauty.

Why Native Plants Matter

Native plants provide essential habitat and food sources for pollinators, birds, and wildlife. Many insects and birds rely on native plant species to complete their life cycles. By planting native, you help rebuild local ecosystems and support biodiversity in your own backyard.

Quick FAQ

Do I need to bury SeedPillow™?
No. Just Drop It! Place it on top of the soil and keep it moist.

How long until I see flowers?
Some plants may bloom the first year, but many native wildflowers require time to establish. Full flowering and habitat benefits often occur within 2–3 growing seasons.

Can I use it in containers?
Yes, many native wildflowers may be grown in a container.  We recommend using the biggest container possible.  Place it on top of a container filled with soil, keep it evenly moist, and follow the same steps. Except you do not need to move your container in doors for winter.
